One Year Cake Smash Investment

What better way for you and your baby to celebrate than them diving into a delicious cake!

• The custom made cake and outfits are included with your session as a courtesy. I provide this service to you, to help the mom out, so she doesn't have to juggle placing the order, picking up the cake, and hauling the cake to the session and figuring out the outfits. If your child has food allergies, for the safety of your child, I ask that you provide your own cake. If so, please let me know.

• Cake smash sessions are typically held 4-6 weeks before their actual birthday. This accounts for 7-14 days of editing, and also gives the client time to order prints, canvases or posters for their actual birthday party.

• To include family members in your session, an additional $50 per person rate will apply. However, for best results, it is recommended that they be booked separately. As babies/toddlers attention only last for a brief time.

• I only offer studio sessions over outdoor sessions for the following reasons. 

  • Outdoor sessions are only scheduled in the evening, about 1 hour before sunset for best lighting.​ Most babies are wiped out from the day, and are ready for bed. From experience, tired babies are not fans of cake smash sessions.

  • Studio sessions can be scheduled anywhere from 9 AM to 3 PM.

  • Most babies are happiest during the morning hours or right after their afternoon nap time. It is recommended that we schedule their session either 2 hours before OR 1 hour after their typical naptime.

• If you have a themed session in mind, and is currently not available for the essential or deluxe packages, I can completely customize your session for you, with the purchase of the premium package to match your theme. For a customized session you will need to book at least 4-6 weeks prior to your session date (8-12 weeks before their actual birthday), to ensure we can get the backdrops and props delivered in time for your session. I can do small customized sessions with no additional charge for the deluxe and premium package, such as balloon arch backgrounds, etc.

• If your child has allergy issues of any kind or sensitive stomach issues, for the safety of your child I ask that you provide your cake or choice of food for your cake smash session. If so, please let me know of your child's food allergies.​

• Bubble baths after their smash are completely optional (this is only for deluxe and premium packages). Since babies are sticky and messy after their smash, it's a great opportunity for them to get somewhat clean, and get some adorable shots them splashing around in a bubble bath. If a bubble bath is requested, they are expected to get fully undressed. I want to assure my clients that there will be no nudity shots. If baby bum photos are requested, please let me know and I will get a few.

• All sessions are on weekdays, anywhere from 9 AM-3 PM. I am unavailable on weekends.​​

• Session fee includes time, custom made cake or goodie of choice, experience and gives access to all of my studio inventory, which includes a variety of backdrops, props, wraps, headbands, hats and outfits.

Once I have you on my calendar, I require a $100 non-refundable deposit for either the essential and deluxe packages. For the premium package, I require a 50% deposit upon booking. It is intended to hold your session date and is applied towards the total cost of the package purchased. The remaining balance shall be paid by invoice sent after your session.

Typical turnaround time from your session to receiving all of your edited images is between 14-18 days. If my schedule is extremely busy, sometimes that turnaround can take a few more days. I always keep clients updated if more time is needed to get the images finalized.
